Ladoga, July 21 -- Kyle ROGERS, aged 81, retired farmer died at his home here at 4:30 o'clock this afternoon after a serious illness of a year. He had been in failing health for several years, infirmities of old age finally claiming his life today. The dead man was born NOv 4, 1848 in Botetourt Co VA the son of Alex and Catherine Rogers. He was married 3 times,t he first time on Sept 20, 1870 to Emma BOWEN, who died Sept 27, 1876. He later was unite din marriage in 1884 to Sarah e. McCRERY who preceded him in death April 18, 1904. His third wife was Mary MILLER to whom he was married Sept 15, 1914. The latter survives the deceased. Mr. Rogers came to Indiana when 12 after which he spent the remainder of his life in Montgomery and Boone Counties. He had lived in Ladoga for a number of years and was well known throughout this part of the country. He had been a member of the local Christian Church since 1916. Besides the widow, the survivors are 3 daughters by the first marriage: Mrs. George SPENCER of near Ladoga; Mrs. CE BELL of Walloway, Oregon and Mrs. Bert WHITE of near Newcastle; two brothers, Samuel of near Lebanon and Robert of New Ross; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Kernodle of North Salem and Mrs. Alice WILLIAMS of Jacksonville, Fla one half sister, Mrs. Edna Morphew of Crawfordsville; 3 grandsons and 3 great grandsons. The family has requested that no flowers be sent. The services will be held at 1:30 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon at the Christian Church here with the Rev. SG Smith pastor of the Parkesburh Church in charg. Burial will be in Inlow cemetery, 3 miles NE of Ladoga. - kbz
